Our Guests
Our typical guests are folks wanting to relax, rest, catch up on reading, watch a movie, take walks and bird watch, ride bikes, stroll downtown Galena, antique hunt, enjoy an anniversary or engagement, take a romantic rendezvous, escape the traffic and chaos of the cities and suburbs. Doesn’t this sound appealing?

We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway weekend at Galena Louise. Your preparations and attention to detail did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We felt totally welcomed and at ease. We also found the drive and distance from Chicago to be ideal… much better than our experience vacationing in Michigan. Downtown Galena was great! Thank you so much… we’ll be back!
Randy & Deb — July 22nd, 2011, 2:20 PMThank you!! This house is amazing! This house and its contents ensure a relaxing and wonderful trip. All the ‘extras’ you provided were very thoughtful and much appreciated! This was exactly what we needed and we can not wait to come again!!
Carina & Phil — July 22nd, 2011, 2:22 PMThis restful place rates right up there with the Cottages in England!! It has the same charm, atmosphere & class. Congratulations on a lovely place.
Lynn & Tim — July 22nd, 2011, 2:23 PMWe thought the house was very nice and were pleasantly surprised at all the food and other amenities. We have been to five other places in Galena and this is the best so far. Keep up the rooster theme!
Carl & Deb — July 22nd, 2011, 2:23 PMWe found Galena to be a great vacation spot. Really liked Frank O’Dowd’s Irish Pub down the road from Galena Louise! The live music was great!
Rusty — July 22nd, 2011, 2:58 PMWe visited Galena Louise on a September weekend in 2008, and dined at the One Eleven North Main Restaurant at the suggestion of friends. We found the service and atmosphere to be wonderful. The hosts and servers were very warm and friendly. The food was delicious and the decor warm and inviting.
The space is also enhanced decorated with the photography of Robert Keeling, a local photographer transplanted from Chicago, Illinois. His large black and white portraits of area farmers and small business people made the atmosphere even warmer and inviting. We looked online and found some of his work displayed below.
